Single
Dorayaki -JAPAN- It was fun to buy just one, instead of a big package of
Dorayaki, but I didn't think this kind tasted as good. I wish we had a Japanese bakery
here so I could get stuff like this fresh... |
 |
Myriad
Foods My Vi Nhat brand Red Bean Bun -USA- These are delicious! Put them in your
steamer for 20 minutes or so then bite into some chewey, sweet bean goodness! |
 |
Katokichi
brand Taiyaki -JAPAN- Look in the freezer section for this! Two fish per pack,
these sweet bean filled cakes are great snacks! If you have a microwave, it's probably
easy to heat them up... or if not, do what I do: put them in the oven for 10 minutes on
each side under the broiler. But watch them carefully or else they'll burn! Katokichi

ones with chestnut in them! Wonderful! |

Kyan
Baby Budou Tachi Hard Candy -JAPAN- Green (melon), pink (strawberry), and purple
(grape) little candies in the coolest little container! Did you notice the little baby
bear on the label looks like a grape? |
 |
Kasugai
brand Litchi Candy -JAPAN- It's kinda-- well, sad isn't the word, but--- these
taste more like litchi than REAL litchi!! They're wonderful! Wonderous! Wondertastic!
Teehee.. If wondertastic isn't a word, it
should be 'cause it describes this candy so good.

 |
Flower's
Kiss Candy -JAPAN- Yummy fruity, milky, perfumy candy! Each candy wrapper has a
flower on it... and some sort of dates also. Example: KURISUMASU RO-ZU (Christmas rose)
has 11/16 on it. Besides that being my birthday, it must have something to do with the
time the flower blooms, maybe? Kasugai homepage |

Dong
Guan Lap Chau Food Stuff brand Marshmallow Kitten -CHINA- Marshmallows
shaped like cats! Can't get much better than that. And you HAVE to check out their website! lapchau.com
|
 |
Eiwa
brand Hello Kitty Pineapple Marshmallow -JAPAN- Little marshmallows filled with
pineapple jelly! What could be better? You can only find these in ABC stores or on their web site! Also comes in other
flavors, with the most recent addition I've noticed, kona coffee! Delicious real coffee
jelly covered in moist marshmallow. But the caffeine may keep you awake all night! Eiwa homepage |

 |
Meiji
Seika brand Yan Yan Double Cream Strawberry & Chocolate -SINGAPORE-
"Does not contain pig fat" Fun sticks to dip! Two flavors is nice, but I do like
the chocolate more. Meiji homepage |
 |
Croley
Foods Sunflower Crackers brand Strawberry Cream Sandwich -PHILIPPINES- These looked
good when I picked them out. The bright packaging, the word "sunflower" on it
making me think there might be some sunflower seeds in them, and the orange and pink
crackers made me want to eat them. But for some reason, they weren't very good. It is
natural strawberry flavor, but something tastes strange... I think it's just one of those
snacks that has to grow on you until you start to like it. Yes, I think so. I could eat
one of these right now! Croley Foods homepage |
 |
Shirakiku
brand Assorted Rice Crackers -JAPAN- Comes in a bunch of little snack packs. The
one pictured is very, very spicy! |
 |
Assi
brand Strawberry Wafer Cookies -KOREA- Is it me, or are they better than the kind
at Safeway? Or is it that shiny red wrapper that makes it taste so good? I just think they
know how to make some great wafer cookies over in Korea! Orionworld homepage |
 |
Khong
Guan Lemon Puff Biscuits Crunchy and light with a delightful lemon cream filling. Khong Guan homepage |

 |
Calpis
brand Strawberry Calpico -JAPAN- The light texture of Calpico in Strawberry
flavor! Though it may look a little like strawberry milk, it has absolutely no
"milky" flavor to it. Just strawberries! |
 |
Calpis
brand Calpico -JAPAN- "The Softer Sensation" A very light and drinkable
uncarbonated soft drink with a lemon-lime flavor. It's white from the milk powder in it,
and in my opinion, lemon-lime tastes great as a white drink! Very recommended! |
 |
Hapi
brand Mandarin Orange Float -KOREA- A sweet, orange drink. When you pour it into
a glass, little pieces of mandarin orange float to the top! Thus the "float"!
Although I wouldn't doubt it'd taste good with ice cream in it. JFC

Sangaria
brand Ramune Melon -JAPAN- the first time I ever had Ramune was this bottle. I
have to admit, it took a pretty long time for me to figure out how to open it. And once
open I still didn't know what side I was supposed to drink out of it. But now I know! And
it's delicious! I tried a litchi flavored one in San Fransico at the Asian Art Museum
restaurant, and it was so good! I wore a blue dress, blue boots, and I just had to get it
'cause it was blue, too! But no one else wanted to try it! Is blue a scary color for soda?
Anyway, when you're done drinking it, the bottle makes a nice flower vase. Sangaria USA homepage |

Meiji
Seika Kaisha brand Roasted Barley Tea -JAPAN- Otherwise known as meiji germy, but
don't worry, it's perfectly harmless. I found it takes a while to get used to the taste,
and it tastes better hot than cold. But once you get over it, this tea is very nice on a
hot summer day. It probably has some health benefits, too... Meiji homepage |

 |
Tangshan
Zhenzhu Chestnut Foods brand Gourmet Roasted Peeled Chestnut -CHINA- Delicious
chestnuts! Eat them cold or warm them up in the oven. These are so much easier than buying
whole chestnuts! |

 |
Meiji
brand PUCHI GAMU Grape Gum -JAPAN- Push down on the cat-head shaped dispenser
with one eye, and out comes little squares of grape gum! They remind of the gum I used to
buy to put in my Hello Kitty candy machine. And if you chew a bunch at the same time,
they're perfect for blowing giant bubbles!!! One thing I've never been able to do with
American gum... oohh.. it's so grape-y, too... Meiji homepage |
 |
Marukawa
Bubble Gum Sampler -JAPAN- This one's my favorite 'cause the
frog one has a tattoo inside! Marukawa homepage |

 |
Fuusai
Iroiro Rice Cake -JAPAN- Kind of like jelly candy, kind of like marshmallow, mix
them together with only the slightest bit of sweet, and you've got these... different...
(but delicious!) rice cakes. Seriously, it looks like there's sugar coating the whole
thing and then you bite into it and it's not sweet! How do they do it? |
 |
Samjin
brand Choco Charlteok Pie -KOREA- Bite into chocolate, then chewy rice cake, then
peanuts! These are delicious, but should be eaten only if you have some time to chew it
enough. It's not fun to swallow bits of it whole! Samjin

Maeda-En
brand Strawberry Mochi -USA- "KEEP DEEP FROZEN" Strawberry is okay, but
I like mango the best! This is the best introductory mochi for people who don't have a
taste yet for strange foods. Once they try mochi ice cream, maybe they'll even try mugwort
sweet bean paste mochi! (which is disgusting, by the way, but a very good conversation
piece) Maeda-En homepage |
 |
Shirakiku
brand White Daifuku Mochi -JAPAN- Here we are! A big 'ol piece of mochi! Filled
with sweet bean. WARNING: may make you feel sick when eaten on an empty stomach. And may
even make you feel sick after you've eaten 'cause this thing is GIGANTIC. |
 |
Showa
Boeki brand Melon Daifuku -JAPAN- My favorite flavor of rice cake! |
 |
Eastern
Beautiful Girl Food brand Purple Yam Mochi -TAIWAN- Delicious! Purple yam is
wonderful in sweet snacks. |

Misuzu
brand Anpanman Petti Koya Dofu (Dried Tofu) - I couldn't help it, I had to buy it
'cause it's so CUTE! It comes with a bunch of cubes of tofu with stamps of Anpanman and
his fellow characters. Also included are two packs of dashi mix. Just simmer the tofu in
water or water flavored with the dashi mix until it's soft. It's that easy! Meal time is
always more fun with Anpanman! Misuzu homepage |
