How are you today? I'm fine and a little sleepy from having a whole day off today.
Most of the time, PK and I have been watching the BBC The Silver Chair and I've been sitting here at the table halfway drawing. Do you think Disney will film this movie? Their Voyage of the Dawn Treader was nice^^ But if not it's okay, 'cause I love these old Narnia movies. Have you seen them?
Lately, I haven't had time in the morning to put on lots of makeup or style my hair. It's a little freeing feeling ♪( ´▽`) Sometimes it's super fun to put on lots of makeup and fake lashes and other times it's nice to be subtle and not wear a mask. Ne?
So that story that me and Laura are making up^^...... I'm trying to help get Leo into character for the main role in my half. But it's really no use because Leo is such an awesome actor to begin with ( ̄▽ ̄)! hehe.... normally he's so outspoken and bordering obnoxious (if it weren't for the marvelous way he tells stories and his speaking voice) but once he's in character, he's perfect^^
(this is a funny part of using characters from odd stories as actors...)
But it's such a good idea though isn't it??? This idea is from Tezuka-sensei^^ if you didn't know the actor thing before, and you know his work, it should click immediately. I mean, once you have a character you really like, why not stick him into another story too? Especially if the new story calls for a lead, when he was only supporting cast before......... right?
I just hope it won't turn into a romance story... T^T.. that's the main reason I picked an actor. He should know what to do..... all I know about romance is from watching tv. -___-.. but, a teenage boy and teenage girl who meet on the train and happen to go to the same high school...? But my friend mostly writes fantasy so who knows where it'll end up. I just wanna make sure she really gets to know "Renè" so she won't have him doing anything silly on her side of the story. That's a nice name, huh? It's the boy's version of Renee. It's probably pronounced with a shorter stop at the end, but it has a soft first syllable so it's pretty balanced. A website said the name meant "born again" ..... isn't that sooooo awesome???
Have we become really off-topic? I wanted to show you my profile pic of our character...... Renè!!! .... it's drawn on a piece of cut-up blank manga style paper I meant to make postcards with and colored in with .. screen tones. 0___0"! I'd actually forgotten the correct way to apply them but figured it out a little ways in. uwaaaaaa たのしいー!!! I wuv doing things the difficult obsolete old-fashioned way^_____^! It's soooo fun. I love to see and do and feel... the ink and the tone has their own distinct feel to run your fingers over them. And the paper is soft and smooth like... kinda like ice, only not wet and cold. The tone feels very plastic and the ink is rough. In that old personality book I talked about before, one interesting thing shows a timeline of about when different personality traits kick in... 5, 12, 25, 55 years old.... (I think that's how it went). Funny thing was, at my 25 it said a development in being more sensory and appreciating the here and now. I think I'm a little early^___^. Though I cannot imagine writing an entire manga and doing tone all by hand.. who knows? Maybe it would be better appreciated. Now if only a good story beginning could come to me......
And finally (just when I think I have nothing much to say on a post >~<")), here's the view of the table from where I'm sitting. I put a piece of the "1912 cars" fabric over the white curtain I was using as a table cloth and it worked nicely^^ there's my little collection of Deleter tone, and singing Doraemon clock, and musical Totoro, and a little Van Gogh sunflower painting I printed off the computer for inspiration, and the picture of Vernazza, and my kawaii Pi-chan mimicking birdie, etc etc^^ It's really a mess. But it's a cozy mess and I'll clean it up soon.
Last night I made knishes. Do you know those? Jewish potato things .. etto...... you'll have to try one sometime^^;; (recipe very very very very much thank you to burekaboy @ http://is-that-my-bureka.blogspot.com/2007/05/everybody-loves-knishes.html) I think I put too much sugar in the filling (hehe I was surprised it even called for 1+ teaspoons of sugar... and I can never resist the "+" when it comes to sugar -__-......). Pop really likes the super spiced ones in New York from Yonah Schimmel's, and I grew up with imitation west coast knishes from the freezer department (soooo yummy~~!!!! you can't buy them at all anymore...), but he said mine tasted a lot like Canter's. Yay! Canter's knishes are gigantic and awesome and creamy inside. Mine weren't nearly as almost as good as theirs, but next time I'll hafta add some nice dairy to the potatoes. Maybe cabbage. The ones I remember from when I was really really little had a little bit of green cabbage in them and that made it sooo yummy. Tonight we're gonna try them cooked in the microwave and see how they compare^^
Speaking of night, looks like the sun hid away behind the mountains already! Maybe it's time for a little coffee to warm up^^
At the end of The Silver chair, Aslan tells Eustace and Jill that they can know him in their world too, but he has a different name there. kyaaaa♥♥♥!!! It gives me a warm feeling^___^ I know Aslan in this world.........! Are you curious?.... His name is Jesus♥
baibai minna-san. Have a blessed rest of your day^___^, 'kay?
I really love your art style <3
