Hi minna-san! ohayou, ne^^;;
Yesterday I drew a little drawing on my to-do and grocery list. She's supposed to be mori girl hehe♥
And here's the onigiri I made this morning for Ghibli movie night tonight^__^ One row is vegetable mix, and one row is seaweed + shiso + ... umeboshi? It sure tasted like umeboshi..... yumm. They're made from the packets of dried stuff for making musubi and such! The one I'm not sure about was a present from my friend Sushi-san when we visited Japan^^ then with some nori around the bottom and... finì!
Upon looking through and deciphering my new mori girl books, I'm noticing that a lot of the girls in them that have a little bio are illustrators. waa sugoi! I love how this fashion sense is so accepted by creative people♥♥ that's one reason why I like it so! ...... but... why are the clothes so expensive??!!!! It all looks like thrift shop finds but they're $100+ for like, every single item! Wow....... how do they afford that.......... and go to cute cafes and shops all the time too... hmmm.........
So I wanna practice not just ballpoint pen sketches-- but do some more watercolor and stuff that's suitable to put on my gallery/portfolio page. It really burns in my heart to want to draw manga, but I'm so lazy and get caught up in other stuff like work and tv and clothes and food and photo... maybe if perhaps someone would find my art and want me to draw something for them (no advertising.) it might break me out of the wandering minute-to-minute never really knowing what I'm doing. And I'm no steps closer to becoming a bartender either T___T... the world is too cluttered, isn't it, minna-san? Can't ever think except for when I'm writing on here. I wanna be more of a clearer thinker like Sherlock-onii-san♥ And actually do something after thinking about it!
Also by the way--- Princess Knight is getting really exciting! It's like a fairytale♥♥ a really really good fairytale too! It makes me wish all my fairy tale books were manga instead of words^___^ hehe the prince from Goldland ... I wonder if he will ever figure it out! Ah-- no spoilers! Go out and buy the first volume for yourself at your locally owned comics or books shop^___^, 'kay?

Your drawing is really well-crafted and I am sure brings a smile and joy to all who view it. Happy, cute, and perfect.
ReplyDeletePretty much all of your art work strikes me as very good-- the watercolors, the photography, and the mouth-watering food items. When I show your cooking to okaa-san Michi, she tells me "that's exactly the kind of food I like to eat." Please don't take me out to any American, Italian, French, etc., restaurants. Only ones where they serve food just like that. " Unfortunately, there aren't any restaurants in either Santa Clara or Monterey that serve such delights. There are pseudo Japanese restaurants run by people of other ethnicities and they just don't measure up. There are a couple of sashimi/sushi eateries that are high quality, but not many. I have to say, your food looks really good to me too! If you lived close, we could buy you all the ingredients and maybe you could whip up "the right stuff" and we could all enjoy your culinary mastery.
While all of the above are things you do so well, it is your drawing and your writings that are truly unique and should perhaps be your primary focus. We'll be watching you on your pathway to being discovered.

ReplyDeleteAw, not any good Japanese restaurants??? Even here we have one that I like that's very Japanese. Just teriyaki n stuff but their curry rice is yummy and they give you tons of rice to eat^___^ and now we have Japanese style roll cake bakery. Most of the recipes I use come from real moms and housewives in Japan-- I'm glad they look good to Michi okaa-san! Wish I could cook you guys something♥ Perhaps I'm gonna try to make castella cake next... and maybe it'll come out right this time...
